I'm a private tutor for any grade level (elementary through college undergrad). My approach to tutoring is holistic: I help my students executive functioning, time management, and study skills so they can be successful in all aspects of their lives. Think of me as a one-stop-shop for all your student's tutoring needs. I teach all levels of math, science, English, economics, and more! I focus on the foundations and deep conceptual understanding. My students are exposed to unique methods and applications which aren't taught by your average teacher, especially when it comes to STEM: algebra, geometry, calculus, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science. If your student is an abstract thinker with curiosity about how the world works, I'm the perfect match.
However, I'm much more than just a tutor. I'm passionate about helping young people discover their talents and pursue their dreams. I love to help students discover their passion for learning and how to think independently. Learning isn't just about getting into a good college or preparing for a successful career; it's about building the skills to think independently, connecting to a deeper sense of purpose, and discovering the ways you can make a positive impact on yourself, your loved ones, and the world as a whole!
Tutoring is only the beginning! I also help students become ideal candidates for even the most prestigious universities by finding engaging and impactful extracurriculars, building leadership and community involvement, securing letters of recommendation, preparing for standardized testing (SAT/ACT), create personal projects, and write essays for college admissions and selective academic summer programs. As a former college athlete, I am familiar with the recruiting process for college athletics as well! With my college application counseling services, I guarantee your student will be admitted to at least one college, although my students usually have multiple options once acceptance letters are sent out!
I am based in Cherry Creek and offer in-person services for the greater Denver area! I also offer virtual services and work with students in Boulder, Chicago, Boston, California, Washington, Australia, Canada, and beyond!

Base pricing includes:
• 4 hours of meetings for basic consultation about the application process
• Personal statement writing support

For each school in the package:
• Up to an additional 5 hours of meeting, plus additional asynchronous time to give feedback on writing

Computer Science Training
$90 per hour
A customized computer science curriculum based on your level of experience and personal goals. I roughly follow the same progression as MIT’s Course 6-3 (Computer Science and Engineering). Topics include:

About me:
Hi I'm Griffin Leonard! I graduated from MIT in 2022 with a B.S. in Computation and Cognition with a concentration in Philosophy and Linguistics.My academic background in the field of education is what sets me apart; you can trust that your student is being taught how to think and learn for themselves and be deeply curious! I'm passionate about education and helping push the next generation to be intelligent, free-thinkers.I have 5+ years of tutoring experience and I was a teacher for Full STEAM Ahead, MIT's Summer math and science program for aspiring engineers. I also have 2 years of education research experience at MIT's Teaching Systems Lab. (See my paper published in Behavioral Science, Eliciting Learner Knowledge: Enabling Focused Practice through an Open-Source Online Tool.) This research focused on creating simulated scenarios to help pre-service K-12 teachers practice teaching math and science argumentation.I spend a lot of my free time designing and developing video games. I also write and publish articles on philosophy, science, and education. I'm also an expert skiier and fire dancer! I was on MIT's water polo team and am a member of Phi Delta Theta.
